The Clinton Public Library is located in Clinton, Tennessee, the seat of Anderson County. It is one of twenty libraries in the Clinch River Regional Library System and one of four libraries serving 75,129 residents in the county. The four Anderson County libraries governed by the Anderson County Library Board are: Briceville, Clinton, Norris, and Rocky Top Public Libraries.
Mission
It is the mission of the Anderson County Libraries to inform, educate, culturally enrich, and entertain the citizens of Anderson County, Tennessee. In an effort to fulfill the libraries’ mission, the staff of the Clinton Public Library is committed to the following principles:

The Staff
Miria has been the library director here at CPL for thirteen years. She started her career in libraries in 2006 as the youth services librarian in Wilkes County, NC after receiving her Master’s from UT in 2005.
Her reading interests include children’s and young adult literature, biographies and memoirs, and any fiction set in Appalachia or fairy tale retellings. Outside of work, she enjoys games of any stripe (board, ttrpg, video, card…you name it), storytelling, acting, and hanging out with her family and their adorable menace of a cat, Toast.
Jessie is our Youth Services Coordinator and Cataloger. As cataloger, Jessie prepares items to be added to the collection and adds them to the computer system for you to find them! She has been working with us for the past two and a half years.
She loves reading nerdy themed romances, decorating her planner, and scrapbooking. She also loves psychology, biology, and archeology (basically all of the -ologies). She enjoys singing musical theater, classical, and popular music and playing them on the violin and piano as well. When the weather is nice she likes to go hiking and camping with her boyfriend. One of her favorite places is Zoo Knoxville.
Jonathan coordinates inter-library loan requests for materials across the state and country. With nearly a decade of library experience he is equipped to help with a variety of patron questions and tasks.
He enjoys cartoons and pop culture artifacts, such as CCG, gunpla models, and comics.
Ashton is our Social Media Manager and PR Coordinator, and is responsible for our calendar and many of our displays. They are often also behind the camera at events, helping to capture library memories.
In their spare time, they also enjoy gaming, cosplay, crafts, and a variety of other hobbies.
Elijah is our resident IT coordinator and has been with us a year and a half. He will be glad to assist you with all of your tech questions and one-on-one tech requests, in addition to all of our other services.
His literary interests include sci-fi, graphic novels, and non-fiction. He also has a broad interest in the science of nature and the universe, trivia, animation, and games.
Archie is one of our Library Assistants, serving patrons at the service desk and providing notary services when a library card just isn’t official enough. She enjoys helping people find answers and she especially enjoys swapping book recommendations.
Archie also volunteers with the library’s Read to a Dog program alongside Walter, her certified HABIT therapy dog. Walter loves meeting people. He takes his job very seriously, although Archie suspects he may simply be in it for the attention.
Jaxx is one of our library assistants and joined us this summer. They are ready to help you with all of the library’s resources from checking out books to taking a look in our local history and genealogy collection.
Their book interests include speculative fiction, horror, non-fiction, and, most of all, memoirs. Other interests include learning about history, cooking, and all sorts of art and crafts.
