Now the library never closes! Clinton Public Library is pleased to announce a new digital library where you can browse, checkout, and download eBooks and audiobooks to your e-reader, MP3 player, or iPod anytime of day from anywhere in the world. All you need is the barcode from the back of your library card.

What is R.E.A.D.S?

R.E.A.D.S. is….

A free online library of digital books, provided to you by the TN State Library and Archives and the Clinton Public Library.  It is full of downloadable audiobooks and eBooks:  Popular Fiction, Classic Literature, Mystery, Romance, Children’s Titles, Teens’ Titles, and many many more!

Just like at the Library, you can:

  • Check out available books
  • Make a wish list of titles
  • Place holds on books that are already checked out to someone else.

Like a Library at Home

  • Check out digital books for 7, 14, or 21 days at a time.  You decide.
  • Digital books expire on their own.
  • No late fees.
  • No need to return.

Where You Can Use Them:

  • eBooks -
    • Your home computer
    • Sony Reader, BN Nook, iPad, iPod Touch,  Kindle, and more
  • Audiobooks -
    • Your home computer
    • iPod, iPhone, and iPad
    • Other MP3 players and phones listed on the website

What you Need:

  • Your Clinton Public Library Card
  • Internet Access
  • Free software from the website (or Amazon account, for Kindle)
  • A computer or compatible portable device to open the digital book

What you do:

  1. Click on the link for R.E.A.D.S.
  2. Download, install, and activate the free software.
  3. Browse, search, and select books to check out and download.
  4. Enjoy!
