Tennessee Reference Collection

The library has an extensive collection of TN historical and genealogical material. In addition to the print collection, we also have a microfilm collection consisting of Anderson County Records (probate, register of deeds, Chancery Court, Circuit Court, and County Court records), Census Records, Land Grant Index, Tax Lists, and Vital Statistics. Local newspapers, Clinton Gazette, Anderson County News, Clinton Courier News, and Clinton Appalachian Observer are also available on microfilm.

Volunteer Researcher

Do you live out of the area and need genealogical help in Anderson County?

Our volunteer researcher will do limited research on a specific individual or search for a specific record – such as a deed or marriage record – on a specific individual at either Court House. If you are looking for document copies only, you must know the specific record you are looking for and in which county it is located. There is no charge for our volunteer’s time, but there is a cost for printing, copying and mailing. Contact our volunteer minnow1129@aol.com for more information.
