For some children, reading can be a big struggle. Reading aloud can prove to be an embarrassing task.
Ruff Reading can help.
Ruff Reading is a program that allows children the opportunity to practice reading aloud to a non-judgmental audience. Children who participate develop confidence while improving their reading skills. They also learn how to treat and be compassionate toward animals.
Not to mention, it is also a fun and relaxing way to enjoy the library and reading!
Ruff Reading at the Clinton Public Library is scheduled once a week during the school year. Visits have ended for the 2011-2012 school year, but check our Summer Reading Club calendar for more.
Drop in, grab a book from our shelves (or bring your own), say hello, curl up, and share your story with a fluffy friend. No matter what your age or reading level, Ziggy will not judge.
If you don’t feel like reading, you are still welcome to stop by and say hello to Ziggy—she would love to see you at the library!
HABIT dogs are friendly and clean, and their owners volunteer to share them with you.
