About Us

The Clinton Public Library is located in Clinton, Tennessee, the seat of Anderson County. It is one of twenty libraries in the Clinch-Powell Regional Library System and one of four libraries serving 73,471 residents in the county. The four Anderson County libraries governed by the Anderson County Library Board are: Briceville, Clinton, Lake City and Norris Public Libraries. It is the mission of the Anderson County Libraries to inform, educate, culturally enrich, and entertain the citizens of Anderson County, Tennessee.

Meet the Staff

Essy Day, Director of the Clinton Public Library, is a native of Pennsylvania. She has a Master of Science in Library and Information Science degree from Drexel University and twelve years experience in public library systems.

Assistant Librarian, Katherine Plater, is a native of New York.  She began working at the Clinton Public Library in January 2010. Katherine has a Master of Science in Library and Information Science degree from Drexel University and several years of experience in public libraries.

Library Assistants Misty Davis, Betty Ellis, Dorothy Hockensmith,  Janie Wolfenbarger, Robin Moore, and Samantha Randolph work tirelessly to deliver great customer service and assist patrons with all their informational needs.

Erica Costly, our page, does a wonderful job of returning library material to the shelves in a timely fashion.

Mr. Stewart, our terrific custodian, and the staff of the Clinton Parks and Recreation Department are hard at work each day making repairs, cleaning, and taking care of the building.
