East Tennessee College Alliance
ETCA is comprised of non-profit, post-secondary institutions of higher learning located in East Tennessee. Currently, there are eleven member institutions including:

- East Tennessee State University

- Pellissippi State Community College
- Roane State Community College

According to etcollegealliance.org, member institutions, “work together to identify the work force development needs of the business community and provide appropriate educational opportunities to the non-traditional working student” (nda).
Pellissippi State Community College
The ADULT EDUCATION Program is available year round to anyone 17 years of age or older, including those whose primary language is not English. The participants may enter the program at any time. The program provides:
- Adult Literacy
- Basic Workplace Skills
- GED Preparation
- GED Fast-Track and Official GED Practice Tests
- English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
- College Placement Test Preparation
All instruction and materials are free of charge!

Roane State Community College Workforce Development Program
The WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT program at Roane State Community College provides, “continuing education opportunities through a variety of non-credit courses that do not require admission to the college. These courses are offered for personal enrichment, for compliance with business and industrial requirements, for specific technological information and for general cultural benefits” (roanestate.edu).
Most courses are available for a fee.
